Duo Mossy Christian and Megan Wisdom will be featuring in a concert on Sunday April 13 at 7.30pm at St Saviour’s Church Hall, 25 Sandpit Lane, St Albans AL1 4DF. Support will be provided by singer Pete Nutkins.
Hailing from Lincolnshire and East Anglia respectively, Mossy Christian and Megan Wisdom
perform traditional English folk songs, unaccompanied or supported by a variety of
instruments.
Described as ‘One of the true new custodians of the tradition’ by Bright Young Folk, Lincolnshire
based musician and singer Mossy Christian released his debut solo album Come Nobles and
Heroes in 2020. He has since been winning the hearts of audiences up and down the country.
Born and bred in Suffolk, Megan cultivated her signature warm and simple style in pub
sessions, which she has been attending for as long as she can remember. She released her
debut EP in 2018, and regularly performs at folk clubs and festivals nationwide.
With songs from traditional singers such as Cyril Poacher, Sam Larner, and Oscar Woods,
influenced by revival era performers such as Peter Bellamy, Anne Briggs and Nic Jones. There
are instrumental tunes too, with one row melodeon and saxophone complementing the mix.
Mossy and Megan are part of a living tradition, carrying the music forward into the future, never
boring, and always eager to share the joy which has been passed on to them throughout their
musical lives.
