‘Heat or Eat’ Charity Concert to Support Hertfordshire Pensioners in Crisis
Abbots Langley, Hertfordshire – On Thursday, December 12, 2024, the Henderson Hub Community Arts Theatre in Abbots Langley will host “Heat or Eat”, a one-of-a-kind charity concert bringing together eight talented local musicians to raise vital funds to support needy pensioners in Hertfordshire who have been deeply affected by the Government’s decision to axe the Winter Fuel Payment.
This potentially life-threatening decision has left many pensioners facing an impossible choice: heat their homes or put food on the table. The “Heat or Eat” concert aims to highlight this injustice while raising crucial support for Age UK Hertfordshire, a charity that works tirelessly to assist older people.
Organised and hosted by Alex Scott, a singer/songwriter from Hertfordshire, the event promises an unforgettable evening of diverse performances. Each artist will take to the stage to deliver a set filled with emotion and energy, all in the spirit of making a difference for those in need.
Singer/songwriter Alex, who has been a champion for social causes through his music, says: “No one should have to make the heartbreaking decision between staying warm and eating a meal. This concert is about more than music—it’s about community, compassion, and demanding change for our most vulnerable pensioners.”
