Concert with celebrated local choir Hertfordshire Chorus, in the historic setting of St Albans cathedral. presenting two compelling choral works urging us to look towards a better and more peaceful future.

  1. World premiere of Sarojini by Indian-American composer Sruthi Rajasekar.

This exciting new work , composed in the year of the 75th anniversary of Indian independence, uses the poetry of writer and politician Sarojini Naidu to celebrate her life and legacy. Shruthi specialises in composing music that draws from her unique background in the  Carnatic (South Indian Classical) and Western classical styles.

2. The Armed Man by Karl  Jenkins

A well-known modern choral classic, loved byaudiences and choir alike, this powerful work charts the growing menace of  a descent into war, and ends with a hope for peace.
