Celebrating 60 years of the MHJO!

The Mid Herts Jazz Orchestra was started in 1963. In the sixties the band was called The Watford Branch Musicians’ Union Rehearsal Orchestra and used to rehearse in New Greens Hall in St Albans. The orchestra later became known as The Ed Harvey Big Band and later it became the Mid Herts Jazz Orchestra. In 1987 the orchestra moved to the Wheathampstead Club and then to the sports pavilion at nearby Sandridge in 2010.

The MHJO performs a verity of Big Band music, from Classic Croons through Latin, Film, Salsa, Swing and most things in between just for the fun of it!
