Synopsis

This vibrant musical is based on the true story of the 1968 Ford sewing machinist strike in Dagenham, England.

Rita O’Grady is a factory worker who is fed up with the inequality she sees day in, day out. So she takes things into her own hands, leading her fellow female employees in a fight for equal
pay and better working conditions. As the women stand up against their male supervisors and challenge societal norms, they face numerous obstacles, from personal sacrifices to workplace
discrimination.

Made in Dagenham not only highlights the struggle for gender equality but also celebrates camaraderie, resilience, and the transformative power of collective action.

St Albans Youth Music Theatre will leave audiences inspired and believing in their ability to effect change and make a difference.
