Join UH Arts + Culture to create your very own photograms, discover the magic of the darkroom and learn about illustration!

In the first part of this workshop, you’ll be invited to a short tour of our World Illustration Awards Touring Exhibition – a showcase of exciting new work by emerging talent and professional illustrators from around the globe. Then we’ll head down to our darkroom to get creative with your newfound inspiration!

You’ll be using photographic paper and light, along with a range of materials, to produce photograms in response to the show. You will learn about:

  • Cameraless photography
  • Photographic chemistry
  • Darkroom techniques
  • Building a narrative
  • Composition
  • and more…
