The Maltings Shopping Centre is turning up the heat with their brand-new Summer Sounds event.
Friday 27 June from 6 – 10 pm, locals and visitors can enjoy late-night shopping, delicious street food and a packed programme of live music!

Grace George – a rising star whose soulful vocals and heartfelt lyrics have been featured on ITV’s Love Island – will perform two special headline sets that promise to be an epic highlight of the evening. Local performance academy Brilliant Theatre Arts will showcase young stars-in-the-making, with a spectacular selection of musical theatre hits. Prepare for standout performances from some of the city’s brightest young stars, who all attend Brilliant’s St Albans Academy.
Closing the main stage with an electrifying finale, guaranteed to get everyone dancing, is FLABBA! Bringing you all the iconic hits of ABBA — with twice the sequins and double the fun! This fabulously full-figured duo will belt out classics like Dancing Queen, Waterloo, and Mamma Mia with powerhouse vocals and deliciously over-the-top energy in a feel-good, disco-drenched celebration of fearless self-love.
At the Wilko’s end of the shopping centre, the legendary Dirty Stereo DJs will keep the summer vibes going with uplifting house music throughout the evening.
Visitors can fuel summer shopping with delicious food from local legends Chicken George, Peddling Pizza, Waffle Wands and Infuse and enjoy a choice of drinks from The 3 Brewers of St Albans, Fade 2 Black, Bunkum Rum, Black Bridge Distillery and a Prosecco bar with all profits supporting local charity Youth Talk.
Most of the shops in the centre are staying open late with retailers pulling out all the stops with special offers and treats for customers old and new!
