Synopsis
A group of first year history students is troubled by a noisy ghost. As a dare, they use a Ouija board to try to contact the spirit, but get more than they bargained for when they come face-to-face with Britain’s colonial past.
What follows is a rollercoaster ride as they confront this country’s difficult imperial history of racism and prejudice. Written specifically for youth groups, the play features naturalism, physical theatre, poetry, group prose and direct address in a varied and challenging script.
Part of Black History Month, commemorating the 75th anniversary of HMT Empire Windrush.
This play contains some offensive racist language used in historical context.
