Miranda McKearney is a social justice entrepreneur who has spent 35 years turning kitchen table ideas into nationwide campaigns. In 2002, Miranda founded The Reading Agency, a national charity, and the charity’s Summer Reading Challenge now involves 800,000 children every year.
Fostering and developing empathy is at the heart of everything Miranda does and, in 2014, she went on to found the Empathy Lab – the first organisation to build children’s empathy, literacy and social activism through a systematic use of high-quality literature.
Listen again to Mix Mornings last Thursday to find out a bit more when Iain interviews Miranda and learns about the work of the Empathy Lab and Empathy Day coming up on the 8th June.
