Elly thought she was in for a right telling off when not 1 but 2 head teachers came into the studio. The incumbent and the successor – Peter Gillet & Wanda Gill from Hertswood Academy in Borehamwood. The lesson, all about Peter’s music for good and the song he has written and performed with some of his students to raise money for mental health charity, Mind in Herts. The song, originally written and performed in 2002, has been updated and so far raised £650 OVER the original target of £1000 so the target has now been upped to £5000. We also hear from Wanda, who takes on the role of Head in September.
So, your homework? Tune in to hear Peter’s story from band member to teacher, his quest to raise money for good with his music, and if you are inclined, donate to this worthy cause. There’s also a chance to get involved if you’re a local school in the area – learn about the challenge to do some rapping and get involved!!
