The de Havilland Philharmonic Orchestra celebrates LGBTQ+ history month

On Sunday 5th February, the University of Hertfordshire’s resident orchestra – the de Havilland Philharmonic Orchestra – will be celebrating LGBTQ+ History Month with a concert of works by Tchaikovsky (1840-1893).

Performing work by Tchaikovsky, whose writings biographers believe reveal his homosexuality, during LGBTQ+ History Month gives the dHPO along with their audience the opportunity to remember, honour and celebrate lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender history.

Mel Proctor is the marketing coordinator for the Arts and Culture team at the University of Hertfordshire and you can hear Elly O’Meara’s interview with Mel on Thursday’s Mix Mornings with Iain Pritchard.
