Nicola McKinnon, from Herts Young Homesless, joined Jonny on Sunday Morning to discuss this year’s Great Big Walk.
Starting and finishing in the picturesque Heartwood Forest, supporters are invited to join in on a spectacular half marathon walk to raise money for Herts Young Homeless!
By taking part in the walk all the money you raise will be doubled, helping to make a huge difference to the lives of the young people we support who are facing homelessness.
This scenic route guided by Ian, a Hertfordshire Way expert, allows walkers to take in the beautiful scenery of Heartwood Forest, home to over half a million trees and wildflower meadows, before heading to Coleman Green, Brocket Park and Nomansland before heading back to Sandridge.
There will be a halfway stop at the grounds of St Helen’s Church in Wheathampsted for lunch.
So whether you come as a team, you walk with your dog or you come on your own, join us and help to raise money for hyh this September!
Registration costs £15 with discounted prices for groups of four. HYH do not ask for a fundraising target to take part, they just ask that you raise as much as you can and our friendly fundraising team will be here to support you. Research shows that people are more likely to donate to a page if others have already, so to help get your page up and running, please donate your registration fee to your page once this has been set up.
All sign-ups will have the choice to either receive an exclusive hyh sports top to wear on the day, or for us to redirect the funds and to instead plant a tree on your behalf through our partnership with Ecologi.
Listen again to find out how to join in.
