Unhoused but unbowed…a snapshot of homelessness in modern Britain.

Mix Mornings with Steve Simpson

Outsiders is a documentary photography project by Marc Davenant on display at the St Albans Museem. The photographs capture the different meanings of homelessness in modern Britain. Sleeping rough is the conventional picture but it also means not having access to a safe, stable, and habitable home environment.

Iain Pritchard talked to Catherine from the museum and to Kerri – now a campaigner but also featured in the collection.

“Looking at Marc Davenant’s portraits of homeless people living in the UK isn’t easy, but that’s the point.”
