When Elly spotted a smiley face that she recognised on a local CIC’s FB page, she instantly made a comment! Founder of Leeaanna’s Wish and said CIC, Shelley Hayles got in touch and asked Elly if she’d interview Pat Ansari to recognise her as a volunteer. Elly was invited to the Monday afternoon club at the Cottonmill Community and Cycling centre to chat to some of the other people at the centre, and to interview Pat. Pat, having been a service user at the Headway Charity (a charity that supports people who have had a brain injury) and an attendee at the Tuesday Community café, offered to help out and become a volunteer at the Monday club. This is a club run by both Leeanna’s Wish and by the Sopwell Residents Association. This is heart warming and really a testament to the great community spirit we have in Hertfordshire.
