In the first of a series of special podcasts on discrimination in the UK Jason McKenna chats to Professor Hakim Adi. They discuss British history, but the focus is on areas of the past that are sometimes neglected in the narratives that are told. There are discussions of pre-Roman Britain moving through the past and up to more modern discussions of the post-war treatment of black people in the country.

Professor Adi is a British historian and scholar who specializes in African affairs. He has an amazing career, with one of his highlights being his 2018 book “Pan-Africanism: A History”. He currently lectures in the History of Africa and the African Diaspora at Chichester West Sussex.  Please check out his work on his website: https://www.hakimadi.org/

Part 2 will be released soon with a focus on contemporary historical occurrences and the most up to date data to evaluate
