For Valentine’s Day, we thought we would do a show on children’s love not of Fortnite or Clash of Clans or the PS4, but of something altogether more interesting – Latin as a language (it might be dead but we have found a whole raft of people who are crazy about it!) Young and old, teachers, parents and professors.
All of them featured on this show as we delved into the appeal of this dead language to the living and ask perhaps how an interest in the classical world can benefit young people more generally.
We were joined by Mr Bowker and Pat Weston of Lockers Park, Libby and Ella Montgomery (Head of Classics), Michele Anderson (Head of Classics at Beechwood Park School), secondary teacher and tutor of Latin Emma Williams and Professor Edith Hall, Professor of Classics, King’s College London.
