Eating Disorders – we hear from a psychotherapist and a young person who battled the illness.

This week’s Parents’ Show is timed to coincide with Eating Disorders Awareness week

First, Vivien speaks to Sharon Burke, a registered Psychotherapist with over 15 years experience and is the founder of the Bridge Psychotherapy.

Sharon trained and worked with the Counseling Pastoral Trust and Schema Institute in London and has been working in private practice since 2015.
Sharon has experience with Psycho-educational groups, couples therapy and individual therapy.

Sharon is passionate about emotional health, mental health, family and helping facilitate healing within the dynamics of all relationships including the relationship that we have with ourselves.

In part two, Vivien meets Molly Leonard, who herself suffered for many years with eating disorders. Molly tells Vivien how it started, the problems she faced, how she eventually found help and what she does now to help others. Molly was awarded the King’s Trust Young Achiever award in 2024.

That’s this Sunday at 8pm and next Thursday at 7pm on 92.6FM, on DAB+, online at mix926.com and on your app or smartspeaker.

The Parents’ Show is sponsored by Rayden Solicitors.
