Tonight’s show is all about giftedness in children. How can we spot a particular gift or talent in our kids? And importantly, how can we nurture it? What problems can arise if a child has abilities beyond their years? How do schools provide for high ability children?

First we talk to Professor Valsa Koshy, eminent researcher in this field and founder of the Brunel’s Able Children’s Education Centre in London. After that, we talk to Peter Hamilton, Headteacher of Haberdasher Aske’s School for Boys – widely considered to be one of the top independent boys schools in the country, Alistair Clarke the gifted and talented coordinator at our top local state school, St George’s in Harpenden, and last but by no means least, James Ball, Cambridge Blue rower
