This week’s Parents’ Show has a focus on schools and children’s education.
It was School Governors Awareness Day recently, so we thought we’d find out more about the role of school governors and how they work with their schools.
Iain Pritchard met with Lucy Parr, Chair of Governors at St Nicholas School in Harpenden, about the role and responsibilities of Governors, how people can become one and the amount of time this voluntary role takes up.
In part 2, Iain meets Jennifer Sprinks, who is curating and editing a book called ‘Tales of Aboyne’ for Aboyne Lodge Primary School in St Albans, who celebrate their 75th anniversary this year.
Finally, to encourage our children to learn more about money at an early age, Citizens Advice St Albans has launched a project in Primary schools teaching children about managing money, risk & reward and many other important money life skills through games, a great and fun way for children to learn. Mix Morning’s Elly O’Meara spoke to Juan Nevado from Citizens Advice about the success of the project, which now has a waiting list of schools who are interested in having the project delivered to them.
That’s this Sunday at 8pm and the following Thursday at 7pm on DAB+, 92.6FM, online at mix926.com and on your smart speaker.
The Parents’ Show is sponsored by Rayden Solicitors.
