The next SustFest Seasons weekend of eco events is this time themed Local to Global.
And no one epitomises Local to Global better than one of the SustFest organisers Farhat Zia, and her husband, Iqbal.
They’ve set up a charity, the Akifa Foundation, to help people and the environment in Baffa in Pakistan, and in this week’s Environment Matters podcast they join Amanda Yorwerth to tell us about the work of the Akifa Foundation reducing plastic pollution, alleviating water scarcity and planting trees, to explain how they have used their experiences working on sustainability projects in St Albans to help their work in Baffa and to say how what they have seen in Baffa has shown them how climate change is hitting people there particularly hard.
