With the new school year starting, we thought that parents of children who are approaching the age to take part in the Duke of Edinburgh’s awards (14 onwards), would like to know more about the Duke of Edinburgh’s Awards, so we spoke to Ella Dixon, the D of E coordinator at Beaumont School in St Albans.
Ella tells Lydia all about the awards, why children should enter, what the three stages of Bronze, Silver and Gold entail and how to go about finding the activities they will undertake.
For example, did you know you can enter the awards up to the age of 25?

Then to close the show, Lydia talks to Rebekah Norman from our sponsor Rayden Solicitors about choosing a school for a child when parents are separated, and how to navigate some of the bariers that may arise.
That’s this Thursday at 7pm on 92.6FM, online at mix926.com and your smartspeaker.
The Parents’ Show is sponsored by Rayden Solicitors.
