You will research and report on a specific topic or on more general matters which people in our audience will find interesting and of value.

It might be a topic on which you have significant personal knowledge or one which interests you, or perhaps you just love our area and want to talk to people here about a range of topics.

Typically, you will be recording and editing pieces of up to 15 minutes in length for broadcast across our schedule.

You will interview local people and experts and include your own well researched and balanced commentary.

We will provide support to you in learning about good interviewing techniques, research, recording, and editing audio

 

Typical time needed : 2 to 4 hours most weeks

Essential skills :

A good command of English
An inquiring mind
Good interpersonal skills
Computer literacy

Ideally you’d have these skills but we can train you :

Some knowledge of a subject area likely to be of interest to a wide range of local people
