During the Second World War, the historic Ashridge House was used as a temporary maternity hospital, as a safe haven for expectant mothers from central London Mothers to be were bussed out from Charing Cross hospital to the leafy idyll of Ashridge House.

Over 2700 Ashridge Babies were born at the House during these years, and the present day owners of Ashridge House are trying to track down as many of them as possible, to join in with an event in June this year, to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the D-Day Landings.

Steve Simpson spoke with Marketing Director  Lucy Le Gassicke about the search for the Ashridge Babies.
