Wildlife Pond at Hornbeam Wood Hedgehog Sanctuary.

Mix Mornings with Iain Pritchard

The Hornbeam Wood Hedgehog Sanctuary is a family run charity looking after British wild hedgehogs. Based in Harpenden, Hertfordshire, and covering Harpenden and the surrounding areas, mother and son are involved on a daily basis and the charity rehabilitates wild hedgehogs and orphaned baby hoglets that are sick, injured, or underweight.

The current crowdfunding drive is for a wildlife pond at the Sanctuary that will home a range of animals including newts, frogs, toads, dragonflies and many other invertebrates. The appeal needs to reach £5000 within the next days to qualify for matched funding and Amanda Yorwerth talked to Martin from the Sanctuary about how they’re getting on.
