I love to meander in a forest like Heartwood, to stop and stare, to escape, partly because I never really had the opportunity to do so in my younger days. City parks were more a brief respite in my lunch hour from London’s busy streets where I could just “be” within a natural space. I take pleasure in reminding my readers and listeners about the uncultivated forest that surrounds us all here in Hertfordshire. As we’re all spending more time indoors, I feel that we need to be reminded to get outside, unplug from stresses with a little aimless wandering and let the beauty of nature uplift, soothe and increase our potential for positive emotions.
