Harpenden’s Christmas Carnival held on Sunday 25th November this year is one of the largest Christmas events in Hertfordshire with up to 20,000 people attending. The Carnival included the Farmers’ Market, stalls selling Christmas gifts, food & drinks and a Carnival parade of floats. Plus of course the all important Lights being turned on!
Jonny Seabrook and Dereck Staines were in the Radio Verulam studios while Phil Richards, Jo Coleman & Mark Laughlan were in Harpenden reporting on the events and talking to a variety of people including the Town Mayor David Heritage and Methodist Minister Mark Hammond plus the Panto stars and visitors.
This Podcast includes a number of such reports and interviews plus the countdown to switching on the lights. Note the sound quality is slightly poor at the end as the noise of the crowds overpowered our microphones!
