This first of a five-part series is an introduction (first broadcast on International Day of the Forests – 21 March 2021) to a project created by Wild Rumpus and England’s Community Forests, involving Radio Verulam and nine other community radio stations across England. The project aims to encourage more people to visit and explore (social distanced at all times!) their local woodlands, forests and open green spaces and, while there, to record the sounds of the natural environment.
