Dyslexia – living with it, plus help for girls and women with ADHD and football with Harpenden Colts.

The Parents’ Show with Lydia, Andreea, Neil and Dave

Rayden Solicitors sponsors The Parents’ Show

Following on from last week’s talk with Jane Opie from Dyslexia Herts for Dyslexia Awareness Week, Lydia meets Eban, a local 14-year old schoolboy who has dyslexia, ADHD and Autism, who, along with his mother Helen, talks about how Eban copes both at school and at home.

Then still on the subject of Neurodiveristy, Pippa Simou and ‘The ADD-vantage’ offer support to individuals, primarily to girls and women, with a diagnosis (or suspected diagnosis) of ADHD.

In 2017 Pippa was herself diagnosed with ADHD and Dyslexia, which highlighted for her the lack of understanding and services for women with the condition. Pippa started ‘The ADD-vantage‘ in 2020, offering support services specifically to women and girls with ADHD symptoms to help them understand and grow into their symptoms.

Pippa talked to Iain Pritchard on Mix Mornings about ADHD and the community of connections and support she is working to build up.

Neil is then joined by Chris Gregory of Harpenden Colts FC, one of the largest grassroots football clubs in the country with nearly 1500 players and in excess of 350 coaches and volunteers. Chris talks to Neil about the benefits of joining the club for children of all ages and the opportunities for both girls and boys to play football.

That’s this Thursday at 7pm on Mix 92.6, online at mix926.com and your smartspeaker.

The Parents’ Show is sponsored by Rayden Solicitors.
