More about: Charity
Something rather unusual is happening at Hertford Castle on Friday 24th October… and the whole town is invited to get involved!
The team at Hertford Museum is locking up some of our best-known local business leaders in the castle dungeons – all in the name of charity! Each “inmate” must raise at least £500 in ‘bail money’ to secure their release, with every penny supporting the museum’s work to keep local history free and accessible for everyone and support its childrens’ activities programmes.
And adding a touch of celebrity sparkle to proceedings, Trevor Michael Georges, star of Coronation Street, will be our official Gaoler for the day! Trevor will be overseeing the arrests, keeping the inmates in line, and even signing autographs for fans during the event.
Among those set to spend some time behind bars are:
-
IT Builder
…and many more brave local business leaders!
The event is sponsored by Longmores Solicitors, who are helping to make this community fundraiser a real show-stopper.
How you can take part
-
Come along to the Castle on the day to cheer (or jeer!) your favourite inmates.
-
Sponsor their “bail” online via Just Giving (just search Jailbreak at Hertford Castle).
- Help spread the word on socials @HertfordMuseum
-
Or better yet, sign up to become an inmate yourself and join the fun! There’s still time to register and raise your own bail money for a brilliant local cause.
All funds raised go directly to supporting Hertford Museum’s free family activities, exhibitions and education programmes, helping to keep local heritage alive for generations to come.
So get ready, Hertford – it’s time to lock up your leaders for a legendary cause!
