Visitors to Willows Activity Farm this Christmas will be able to step through the ‘polar portal’ and journey through a winter wonderland to meet Santa.
The 500 acre farm near St Albans has installed the six feet high entranceway as part of its Santa Spectacular experience which got underway on Saturday 22 November.
As each visitor steps through the ‘polar portal’ it reveals if they are on the naughty or nice list this Christmas.
Andrew Wolfe, director at Willows Activity Farm, says: “We’re thrilled the polar portal is back for a second year. It was hugely popular last year – lots of children made it onto the nice list but quite a few grown ups ended up on the naughty list I’m afraid! It really added to the fun and excitement of visiting Santa in his grotto.”
Families will embark on a magical walk through the enchanted forest where they will come face-to-face with penguins and polar bears, meet Mrs Claus, visit the gingerbread factory and see the elves making toys in their workshop. New for 2025 will be the chance to meet our three singing reindeer who will be entertaining visitors with their festive songs.
Andrew says: “At the end of their journey families will enjoy a one-to-one meeting with Santa where children will be able to share all their Christmas wishes with him. Every child is then given a golden key to his toyshop where they can choose their main gift to take home.”
New for this year is the chance for budding builders to join a team of elves in the Toy Workshop and construct a wooden gingerbread house to take home.
Back for 2025 is the Create-a-Cuddle workshop where children can make their own soft toy teddy bear to make, name and take home, complete with a birth certificate for their new friend.
There will also be an opportunity for little ones to decorate gingerbread with Mrs Claus, write a letter to Santa (and look forward to a reply), journey on the festive wood ride, and take in the Willows’ pantomime.
Andrew adds: “We have a cracker of a Christmas lined up at Willows this year. I’m thrilled we have the portal installed as it makes the journey through winter wonderland even more magical and I can’t wait for families to enjoy our brand new on-site pantomime – oh yes they will!
“Our animals will also be enjoying the festivities with our reindeer, Holly and Silver, as well as Dillon the donkey, at The Farmyard ready to meet our Christmas guests.”
It’s not just festive fun at Willows this Christmas, there are also all the usual activities that visitors can look forward to including the PETER RABBIT™ Adventure Playground, PETER RABBIT™ Adventure Golf and the chance to meet Peter Rabbit, as well as the indoor soft play barn.
Santa Spectacular takes place on 6th – 7th, 13th – 14th, 19th – 24th December.
