Electric vehicles have many environmental advantages and sales of EVs were 40% up last year. However, all this progress could be lost if EV drivers are left stranded because of inadequate charging facilities. Nationally, we heard stories of queues of electric cars at charging points over Christmas and some people saying that they’re going back to fossil fuel cars because they aren’t happy with the unreliability of existing facilities.

But what’s the picture locally?

Are local EV drivers struggling? And, if so, what do they need to convince them to stick with electric?

In this week’s Environment Matters we hear about the experiences of 3 local EV drivers
