Talking ADHD and Novel Writing Month.

This episode features an in-depth interview with Serena Baker, who works in children and adolescent mental health services (CAMHS) in the NHS. Lydia and Serena discuss ADHD diagnosis, at what age, and where to start looking for help.

She relates the experiences she had with her own son and how they have adapted their parenting skills and what the differences may be between girls and boys with ADHD. She shares some really useful practical tips and busts a few myths around ADHD and relates how long the condition has actually been recognised.

In the second part of the show, Neil hears from local author and writing coach Nikki Valance about November’s Novel Writing Month, and how children and adults can unleash their creative writing skills. Nikki talks about her journey to becoming a published author and gives some helpful advice to anyone who feels they want to write a book.
