Celebrating Townes Van Zandt.

Country & Roots with Michael Hingston

Townes Van Zandt would have been 80 this year. He passed away far too young aged 52 in 1997. He was a tremendous songwriter and I am going to feature 30 minutes of his songs as a special Easter Monday feature; covers by other artists and one sung by Townes Van Zandt. There will also be two Easter themed songs and the second hour will be a repeat of my interview with Ross Bell of the band Rosko Plko, first broadcast on 26 February. Music from Steve Earle, Wanda Jackson, Kip Moore, Charlie Worsham, Robert Plant and Alison Krauss, Christy Moore and many more.
