If you live in many parts of Hertfordshire you’ll have seen 20mph signs popping up on local roads, speed bumps appearing, and, variously, neighbours being delighted that something is being done about car using the road as a race track or being disgruntled about more wretched speed bumps and 20mph being unreasonably slow.
Speed limits, and 20mph limits in particular, are a divisive issue. In this week’s Environment Matters 7pm Wednesday Cllr Paul Zukowskyj, Herts County Council Cabinet Member for Environment, Transport and Growth explains his plans for speed limits, how you can see if you can have lower speeds on your road, or make sure they’re not lowered if that’s not what you want.
